PLACES OF INTEREST
An excellent starting point for cultural interest, gastronomic and recreational routes.
Natural spaces include Aiguamolls, the Montgri mountains, the Medes Islands, the Gavarres mountains, the Begur mountains, beaches and circular paths.
Of cultural interest at the ruins of the Iberian town of Ullastret, the Roman town of Empúries, Middle age monuments such as Pals, Peratallada, and Monells, the castles of Montgri, Calonge, Castell d'Aro, and La Bisbal; as well as several churches and monasteries.
Famous writers such as Josep Pla have captured life in this area on paper. The museum of the surrealistic painter Salvador Dalí, which is one of the most visited museums is located in Figueres.
For music linking the earth and sea, noteworthy are the Havaneres.

OPEN AIR ACTIVITIES
Baix Emporda is a region filled with natural spaces enabling us to take a walk near the sea and flat grounds, or climb a mountain just a few metres away.
The region has signs along the routes of major interest. Every year there are an increasing number of guided hiking and cycle tourism routes offered.
You can also enjoy yourselves at golf courses or Pitch & putt, Horse-back riding, as well as sea-based activities and flights.

GASTRONOMY
The culinary traditions in these lands make gastronomy a living fact, visible in its markets, fishing ports, popular festivals and large offering of restaurants with constantly changing choices of both popular and design cuisine dishes.
